BPCM at IACC Barcelona: global software protection and recognition for IP lawyers

On May 19, 2017, BPCM Abogados took part in the international gathering of the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (IACC) held in Barcelona, Spain. The IACC is the leading global network bringing together brand owners, enforcement authorities and intellectual property specialists to coordinate the fight against counterfeiting and piracy worldwide.
During the event, BPCM presented its role protecting the rights of the world's leading software companies, sharing the Argentine and Latin American experience in civil and criminal enforcement against piracy, joint work with public authorities and coordination with international industry chambers and associations.
Within the program, the firm handed out awards to several participating lawyers, recognizing the work of outstanding professionals in the defense of intellectual property and the fight against illegal software. The distinction highlights those who, across different jurisdictions, help strengthen enforcement standards and cross-border cooperation.
The IACC international gathering is an excellent setting for the software and intellectual property industry to find new methods of protection against a constantly evolving phenomenon: new distribution channels for illegitimate copies, growing links between piracy and cybercrime, and the need for coordinated responses across jurisdictions. For BPCM, taking part in these spaces is part of an ongoing commitment to the firm's global clients and to building a safer digital ecosystem.
